The culmination of years of testing, Ames is our first PERTEX® Shield Stretch Technology golf rain jacket. Made from a 100% waterproof, windproof fabric that is stretchy and extremely breathable, Ames ensures protection from the elements without restricting your freedom of movement.

Packed with features, the Ames golf rain jacket with chest panel is one of our most thought-through garments. Details include chest tabs for adjustable chest width while you swing, cuffs with particle elastic and a convenient touch and close fastener, repositioned side seam for less friction while you swing, elastic drawstring hem and adjustable cuffs. This ISO-tested fabric has a PFC free water repellent treatment and a “slide and glide” interior meaning you can slip the jacket on and off easily even while wearing several layers underneath. TECHNOLOGY: PERTEX® Shield 3-layer stretch

Pertex Shield stretch garments have a hydrophilic PU membrane, designed to attract and retain water molecules due to the membrane’s “water-loving” nature. This 3-layer fabric is softer and more stretchy, and creates a superior next-to-skin comfort with a ‘slide’n’glide’ effect to reduce friction with garments worn underneath, and guarantees 100% waterproofness. Pertex® fabrics are PFAS-free, making them a better choice for you to wear, use and rely on – year after year.

A hydrophilic PU membrane due to its 'water-loving' properties, occasionally cause a slight puckering effect on the surface of the material, particularly on lighter-coloured garments, when exposed to heavy moisture. Please rest assured, this is not a fabric defect, and the material will return to its smooth texture once fully dry.

We recommend hanging your rain gear to dry after use.
Leaving it packed away while wet may cause the fabric to retain moisture, which can impact the garments freshness and long-term performance

Machine wash warm, with similar colours.
Do not use bleach or fabric softener.
Tumble dry medium heat, remove promptly.
Iron at medium temperature 150°/300F.
Do not dry clean.
Do not iron on print.
Keep away from fire.

Better material…still snug!

I should know better as I’ve bought Galvin Green before but the sizing is consistently a half size snug! Love the new material just wish it didn’t always fit as if I had no girth!

Old Macdonald

This Jacket is awesome. It handled a nasty round at Old Macdonald Bandon in prime January Oregon Weather. I Put it next to the fire to dry out between rounds that day but was good for the second round as well. This is the best rain jacket i have had for golfing. Last Jacket was a Peter Millar and this one holds up in the weather better.

Handled an epic Bandon Storm

I purchased the Ames jacket and Alan pants after lots of research and prior to my first trip to Bandon Dunes in January of 2026. I couldn’t recommend them more highly. We experienced two extreme storms during our trip. One at Sheep Ranch with rain and wind like I’ve not experienced while playing before and I was totally dry following our round. Worth every penny. Love the stretch that allowed me to swing. Very comfortable and breathable. So glad I made the investment. I know they’ll last me a long time.
