Galvin Green & Sustainable Golf Week

Galvin Green is proud to play its part in contributing to the Sustainable Golf Week initiative designed to create a greener future for golf and led by the GEO Foundation over the next six days.

As an Innovation Partner to the GEO Foundation since 2021, we wanted to reflect on the many ways that the brand has followed through on its commitment to minimise environmental impact, while enabling golfers to make an impact on the golf course wearing long-lasting and sustainable clothing.

Over the past three years for example, almost 3 million PET plastic bottles have been recycled and transformed into high-performance golf wear within the Galvin Green INSULA™ sweater range.

This same INSULA™ range was recognised outside the golf industry when it won the prestigious ‘Sustainability in Sport’ award at the 2021 Sports Technology Awards.

As well as recycled polyester, Galvin Green has also employed the use of Bluesign® and OEKO-TEX® standard 100 approved fabrics and trimmings across much of its latest collection - making it the broadest range of sustainable golf apparel on the market. Product packaging has also been upgraded to meet eco-friendly standards.

The decision to use more sustainable materials was vindicated this year when research revealed that Galvin Green is considered the No.1 brand for both sustainability and innovation by golfers in the UK, Europe’s largest golf market. It showed that British golfers also view the long-lasting nature of a product as the most important sustainability factor when choosing what to purchase. This opinion among serious golfers is one that aligns perfectly with the brand’s core values.

“The work carried out by the GEO Foundation is paramount in speeding up the progress   of sustainability in golf,” Said Galvin Green CEO Nicholai Stein. “We are delighted to be working alongside such an organisation that is truly making a difference.” he added.
