Brand ambassador stays cool in Kenya pressure test.
Team Galvin Green player Guido Migliozzi – the ‘face’ of the brand’s fashionable EDGE line – kept cool under pressure in the African sunshine last weekend to capture his first European Tour title at the Magical Kenya Open – just 14 starts into his rookie season.
The 22-year-old Italian maintained his form in the face of fierce competition over the closing holes to win by a shot at -16 and move into 26th spot on the Tour’s Race to Dubai. During the event played in warm temperatures, he scored a total of 23 birdies and even hit the pin with his approach shot on the final hole to illustrate his control.
“I love pressure…I love playing with a lot of people looking at me and a lot of cameras,” said Guido, who first signed with Galvin Green in 2016.
Commenting earlier on his clothing, Guido said: “Galvin Green is bringing fashion trends into the golf market. To wear the Edge range, which has a high level of performance alongside looking great, is the perfect combination. It’s one thing having clothing that looks great, but it needs to perform and help me perform better – which it does. The products are so breathable and light to play in.”
Managed by Niall Horan’s Modest! Golf group, Guido follows in the footsteps of the legendary Seve Ballesteros in winning the Kenya event in its debut on the European Tour. His fellow Galvin Green ambassador, South African Christiaan Bezuidenhout, finished T9 in the tournament for his second consecutive top-10 finish.
