GALVIN GREEN SCOOPS GOLFSTORE SUPPLIER AWARD
november 2009
Galvin Green has been voted Best Software Supplier 2009 by Golfstore shops in Sweden, Norway, Germany, Austria and the Netherlands.
In the survey, Golfstore members rated their suppliers and brands in nine different categories including product range, quality, demand, profitability and complaints. The results show that Galvin Green stands up to the competition very well in all categories, and further reinforce the brand’s position as a leading golf wear manufacturer.
“Galvin Green’s repeated top ranking in various tests shows that our products and our focus on quality are world-class. This is the result of a long-term, targeted effort. It is therefore satisfying to see that our efforts are bearing fruit, all the way down to the retailers and the consumers,” comments Christian Nilsson, CEO of Galvin Green.

GALVIN TOPS SURVEY AMONG REGULAR GOLFERS
OCtober 2009
An independent nationwide survey of more than 1,300 regular golfers has confirmed that Galvin Green is by far the most popular choice of waterproofs on the market and the brand is set to benefit from sales of rainsuits at twice the level of its nearest rival.
The survey*, conducted on the internet among golfers playing an average of more than 30 rounds a year, puts Galvin Green well ahead in terms of purchase intentions this year. When asked which brand of waterproofs they intend to buy, more than 45% of golfers named Galvin Green, while 21% opted for Sunderland and 15% for ProQuip.
Galvin, which remains the only brand using GORE-TEX® waterproof fabric throughout its entire rainwear range, has seen its share of the UK market expand significantly in recent years. “This survey shows that serious golfers appreciate the exceptional performance of the garments as well as the distinctive styling and colours,” said Mike Johnson-Hill, Managing Director of Galvin Green UK. “They continue to make the brand stronger, even during difficult trading conditions.”

THREE WINS IN THREE YEARS
OCtober 2009
Galvin Green supplier of the year – again
For the third year in a row Galvin Green has been ranked top supplier in a survey among Sweden’s sports and golf shops. This excellent rating is the result of hard and determined work.
“Quality is key to us. We never compromise when selecting suppliers and materials. Our slogan, ‘We never compromise’, represents our business culture – an attitude that permeates everything that we do,” comments Christian Nilsson, CEO of Galvin Green.
Just as they did last year, Galvin Green sweeps up four of the seven categories included in the survey, dominating the quality category for the fifth year running. Galvin Green also scores highly on their customer service, deliveries and handling of complaints.
“We are delighted that our focus on quality is getting top marks,” says Nilsson, “particularly as it is our clients, the distributors, who vote. Our focus on quality represents a long-term, conscious effort. We consider this to be recognition of all our hard work.”

VENTIL8™ – a new range of
high-performance golf shirts
from Galvin Green
August 2009
VENTIL8™ functional shirts take comfort to a new level. With VENTIL8™ Galvin Green is launching a completely new range of high-performance golf shirts with peerless breathability and unique moisture-transportation properties. Even in the hottest weather, comfortable VENTIL8™ garments will keep your body dry and cool.
The VENTIL8™ range makes use of carefully selected materials with very special properties. A VENTIL8™ shirt transports moisture and excess heat away twice as quickly as a conventional polyester golf shirt. This is made possible by an
advanced technology whereby the textile fibres are designed to disperse perspiration and moisture over a larger area, allowing moisture to evaporate considerably more rapidly.
To prevent bacteria build-up, the textile fibres have been injected with silver ions. This antibacterial technology prevents bad odours and keeps the garment fresh, and as the silver is built into the fibres and is not simply applied to the outside of the fabric, the garment retains its freshness throughout its lifetime.
A number of shirts in the VENTIL8™ range are designed with a sophisticated body-mapping system whereby exposed areas of the garment are equipped with material that provides exceptional ventilation and moisture-transportation properties. VENTIL8™ golf shirts are incredibly easy to look after. They need no ironing to keep their shape and special properties – wash after wash.

GALVIN’S HENNINGSSON JOINS AN EXCLUSIVE CLUB
August 2009
Oskar Henningsson, a recent addition to Team Galvin Green, won his first European Tour title in the Czech Republic yesterday (2 August) and became only the third player in Tour history to win Qualifying School and then land a victory during their debut season.
The 23-year-old Swede shot a brilliant final round 67 for a 13-under total to win the Moravia Silesia Open presented by ALO Diamonds by two shots at the Prosper Golf Resort, some 380km south of Prague. “It feels great…I’m overwhelmed by it,” said Oskar, who finished fourth at the SAS Masters last week. “I was hoping to win this year, but I didn’t expect to this soon,” he added.
Oskar now joins the exclusive company of former Ryder Cup stars José Maria Olazábal and Gordon Brand Junior in taking a title in his first season on Tour after winning at the Qualifying School. “It would be fantastic if I could have a career like theirs,” said Oskar. “Hopefully, this is the starting point for me to achieve similar things.”

SAS Chasers
JULY 2009
Team Galvin Green came to the fore on the final day of the SAS Masters at the Barseback Golf & Country Club in Malmö yesterday (26 July), with no fewer than three players contesting the title won last year by another Team member, Sweden’s Peter Hanson.
This year it was the turn of Welshman Jamie Donaldson to post a clubhouse lead after a final round of 68 containing just 21 putts, together with first round leader Lee Slattery from England and young Swedish player Oskar Henningsson.
Donaldson, looking for his first win in nine years on the longest-ever course in European Tour history at 7,666 yards, finished second to Argentine Ricardo Gonzalez who hit five birdies in the last six holes for a stunning victory.
Slattery, who features prominently in the current ‘Get Serious…Get Galvin’ advertising campaign, finished tied fourth with Henningsson, while yet another Team member, former Swedish Ryder Cup star Joakim Haeggman, figured in the final stages with a closing score of 74 (one over par).
Each group of leaders in the final round contained a Team Galvin Green player – often wearing the distinctive Chase diamond-patterned sweater. TV coverage of the event was broadcast throughout Europe, the Middle and Far East, as well as the USA and Canada.
TIPS FROM THE TOP
July 2009

In a difficult economic climate where every sale counts, it becomes even more important to appreciate the reasons why some lines are now regarded as ‘must stock’ garments.
Here Mike Johnson-Hill recommends five products with outstanding prospects for generating sales during the rest of the season:
• SKINTIGHT™ Compression garments Enzo and Emerson are extremely popular, because they are designed for golfers by golfers and can Galvinize any round;
• WINDSTOPPER® garments like Bond, Buzz, Bolton, Buster are proving to be fast-selling lines, together with the short sleeved Baker, as Brant trousers also making a big impression in the marketplace;
• INSULA™ pullovers like the Decker, Damon and Dawson are popular with golfers of all ages;
• TOUR Edition Jaser and John shirts with extra large Galvin Green branding prominent on the chest in bright colour options;
• The outstanding Breeze knitted bobble-hat that features WINDSTOPPER® lining.
WINNERS TAKE IT ALL
July 2009
Four lucky golfers in the UK have taken delivery of Galvin Green golfing wardrobes after entering competitions in leading golf magazines.
Golf Monthly offered a complete wardrobe of Galvin Green gear – from the base-layer SKINGTIGHT™ Compression garments right through to waterproof suits – plus five runners-up prizes of a Bond WINDSTOPPER® jacket.
Meanwhile Golf International, Golf Punk and National Club Golfer all ran full-page competitions offering head-to-toe prizes that attracted large numbers of entries.
CHARITY SUPPORTERS
July 2009

One of the most successful charity golf days in Europe was supported by Galvin Green recently.
German actor Michael Lesch staged the event at the Reit im Winkl Golf Club in the Austrian Tirol resort of Kösse to generate funds for cancer research.
Lesch, the golf-loving actor who suffered from cancer himself, was a magnet for German and Austrian celebrities willing to help raise funds for the good cause.
As official clothing supplier, Galvin Green dressed club officials and the team responsible for organizing the tournament, as well as Michael and his wife.
NEW FACES
July 2009
A new sales agent has been appointed to cover northern Germany as part of Galvin Green’s investment in a country with high potential market to increase sales.
Juliana Meyden has a background in textiles and fashion and enjoys experience in the golf business. She will be based in Hamburg and will start working with the 2010 collection.
“With three sales agents we can work much closer with our growing number of customers and provide them with an even better service,” said Fredrik Karlsson, Export Area Manager for southern Europe.
Other agents in Germany are Wolfgang Rudnick in central Germany and Siegfried Wallner in the south.
Oskar Henningsson, the Swedish golfer who made history last year by becoming the first player to emerge through the initial two stages of the European Tour Qualifying School to win the final stage at Girona, has signed to wear Galvin.
Oskar, who comes from Granna, turned pro in 2004 at +3, having been a member of the Swedish national team as an amateur. An avid ice hockey fan, he also studied philosophy at university before committing himself to the professional ranks.
PRESIDENTS PICK
July 2009
Some of the biggest names in world golf, including Masters champion Angel Cabrera from Argentina, are set to wear Galvin Green rainwear when they compete against the Americans in the Presidents Cup match in San Francisco this October (8–11).
Australian Greg Norman, the new captain of the Internationals team who has taken over from South African legend Gary Player, invited Galvin’s Canadian licensee Jonathan Wong to bid to equip a team that could also include South Africans Ernie Els, Retief Goosen, Tim Clark and Rory Sabatini, plus Vijay Singh (Fiji), Geoff Ogilvy (Australia), Jeev M Singh (India), Camilo Villegas (Columbia), K. J. Choi (S. Korea) and Mike Weir (Canada).
“After seeing the impact that the Presidents Cup made when it was played in Montreal in 2007, I knew this was an opportunity not to be missed,” said Jonathan. “There is no doubt that Norman and his team would prefer to wear Galvin Green, especially as the event will be played for the first time on the west coast of the US where the weather can turn nasty. The Internationals have only won one of the previous
seven Cup events (in Melbourne in 1998), so we hope they play well enough to win this time.”
The event is played in non-Ryder Cup years and features leading players from outside Europe against a strong US team captained by Fred Couples. The Honorary Chairman of the Presidents Cup this year in US President Barak Obama. Official Outerwear Sponsor of the 2009 International Team at the Presidents Cup – Galvin Green.

GABBY’S ANANGEL
July 2009
Top sports presenter Gabby Logan cut a dash in her new waterproof jacket during a recent televised interview with three-time Major winner and defending Open champion Padraig Harrington at Turnberry – venue for the 2009 Open Championship.
Gabby played a few holes with the popular Irishman as he tackled the famous Ailsa course for the first time in his career, just four weeks ahead of his attempt to make history and win a third Open title in a row.
And despite some unexpected sunshine, the presenter was quick to don an Angel jacket to protect her from some typically windy conditions on the spectacular west of Scotland course.
BIG IMPRESSION
July 2009
The Enzo and Emerson SKINGTIGHT™ Compression garments left Golf World editor Chris Jones amazed after he trialled them for an article on base layer clothing.
Chris was completely won over by the benefits of the lightweight top and leggings after wearing them to play a round in cold conditions – so much so that he wrote a glowing testimonial in the March issue.
“As a sceptic of this type of clothing, I wasn’t expecting much when I wore Galvin’s top for the first time on a cold day at The Grove, under a T-shirt,” he
wrote. “After 18 holes, I’d become a convert. I felt fresh enough to play another round, and because my movement wasn’t restricted by a jumper
and a jacket (I was more than warm enough in this and a shirt) I’d shot one of my best scores of the year.”
The full-page article also featured images of Enzo and Emerson and details of how the high-tech materials keep golfers fresh and comfortable in all conditions.
ACE PERFORMANCE
July 2009
Galvin Green’s multi-layer garments helped top Swedish golfer Peter Hanson keep cool under pressure to qualify for the US Open – with a dramatic hole-in-one!
Hanson grabbed the 11th and final qualification spot in a European qualifier at Walton Heath after scoring with a 6-iron at the 206-yard 17th hole on the
second extra hole.
“This game is just so stupid sometimes,” Hanson said. “Obviously, I am delighted to get through, but to do it like that is unbelievable. I was pumped up, so switched from a five-iron to a six – and knew I had to hit it really well to land it on the front of the green. It was just a perfect shot.”
The hole-in-one was Hanson’s second in two weeks following an ace at the Irish Open, and the seventh

AT A STRETCH
July 2009
The Gore-Tex® PacLite® Shell fabric with stretch – a major feature of the Arn, Alfons, Air and Apex jackets, plus Axton trousers – has
proved a winner with serious golfers.
The innovative fabric is used in different directions on separate parts of the garment to maximize freedom of movement throughout the swing.
The result is a jacket that responds to the turn of the shoulder and trousers that react to the movement of the upper legs to help maintain the performance whatever the weather conditions.
“Golfers looking to buy a quality lightweight rain suit can see the stretch panels across the back of the jackets and appreciate what the
design is all about,” said Christian Nilsson, Chief Executive of Galvin Green.

LADIES’ APPEAL
July 2009

Two of the UK’s leading ladies’ golf publications have been charmed by the 2009 women’s range, resulting excellent coverage and complimentary reviews.
Lady Golfer magazine voted the Amber jacket as the winner of its Best Waterproof Jacket award in the February issue. “I can’t ever rule out Galvin Green for top waterproofs, because I would stake my life on them never letting in water,” said equipment expert Madeleine Winnett.
Meanwhile, the March/April issue of Women & Golf ran a picture from the latest catalogue on its front cover, showing the Joanna golf shirt and Natasha skort, and followed it up with full details of the garments inside.
Galvin Green sponsors promising Danes
5 June 2009
Galvin Green has signed contracts with the promising Danish golfers Mark Haastrup and Jacob Thorbjørn Olesen.
Mark Haastrup, aged 25, plays on the European Challenge Tour. He turned professional in 2007 and won his first victory on the Challenge Tour as early as 2008, when he lifted the Dubliner Challenge title in Sweden. With a final position of 26th on the Challenge Tour Final Rankings last year, he was very close to qualifying directly for the European Tour.
Jacob Thorbjørn Olesen, aged 19, turned professional in January 2008 and has therefore just started his second season as a professional golfer. He plays in the Nordic League, where he is ranked no. 1 prior to the 2009 season.
“Both players are highly respected in Denmark and predicted brilliant futures. They are both extremely ambitious golfers,” says Simon Denwers, Galvin Green Denmark, “and it is important for us to support promising young players.”
The two Danish golfers are thus the latest exciting additions to Team Galvin Green.
GALVIN GREEN – GOLF’S NEW TRENDSETTER
20 May 2009
That’s the verdict returned by GolfPunk magazine in its review of the very latest fashion gear for modern golfers, which appears in its 2009 fashion special.
The GolfPunk Fashion Hot 25 list includes Galvin Green’s full-stretch, Gore-Tex® waterproof Apex and Axton combination, ranking it third on a list of gear sure to make you a winner on the course.
“Is it really possible to enjoy the challenges of rain, wind and stormy weather during an early Monday-morning round, as opposed to these conditions getting the better of you? Yes, it certainly is,” raves the magazine.
And of course we have to agree!

GOLF
CLOTHING ACCOLADES
13 FEBRUARY 2009
Readers of the UK’s biggest golf magazine have voted Galvin Green the best brand in Waterproofs AND Clothing for 2008 – ahead of established global brands like Nike and Ashworth.
The March edition of Today’s Golfer, which boasts a monthly circulation of more than 86,000 and an estimated readership of 263,000, credits Galvin Green as the winner of its annual Awards in the two prized apparel categories.
“It’s the first time a single brand has been voted at the top of both apparel categories, and Galvin Green was the clear winner with our readers,” said editor Andy Calton.
The No.1 waterproofs brand in the UK polled ahead of rivals Sunderland and Pro Quip in the rainwear category with almost a third of the votes and in front of Nike and Ashworth in clothing.
Today’s Golfer stated that: “Galvin Green romped to victory in our waterproofs tests in 2008. Stunning quality and performance, coupled with funky designs, have long made the brand a winner.” Meanwhile, the company’s “enormous range of top quality designs” across the whole catalogue helped land Galvin the ‘Best Clothing Brand’ title.
“This recognition from the readers of Today’s Golfer represents another milestone for the Galvin Green brand,” said CEO Christian Nilsson. “We are thrilled that our clothing range is now seen in the same light as our market-leading waterproofs and we take the feedback from our consumers very seriously."
“The UK is the biggest and most important market for Galvin Green and we are determined to maximise our success and enhance the range still further this year,” he added.
Building on its prized reputation for producing the ultimate in golfing waterproofs, Galvin Green has introduced a larger range of GORE-TEX® garments this year that once again add colour to top performance benefits.
Its multi-layer concept has also seen the addition of Compression clothing and stretch fabric technology, plus new lines in WINDSTOPPERS®, sweaters, polo shirts and trousers for men, women and junior golfers.
