Europe’s Ryder Cup hero Colin Montgomerie has chosen to wear the latest range of Galvin Green golfing waterproofs to help him win tournaments around the world this year.
Monty has signed a contract to wear a selection of Galvin Green’s GORE-TEX fabric ® lightweight weather wear garments, having been convinced that they are the best on the market when it comes to helping him perform well in the most challenging weather conditions at home and abroad.
“I was looking for the best and most technical weather wear products available and the Galvin Green range is simply outstanding,” said Colin, the first European player to feature in five successive Ryder Cup teams and remain unbeaten in eight singles matches against the Americans dating back to 1991.
He was particularly attracted to Galvin Green garments because they are extremely soft and lightweight, easy to pack in the bag and offer the best protection and breathability of any weather wear product on the market.
“Having a great golfing ambassador like Colin wear some of our latest lightweight waterproofs is a real honour for Galvin Green and will only enhance the brand reputation,” said Galvin Green’s Managing Director, Christian Nilsson.
The eight-time winner of the European Tour ‘s Order of Merit - with 37 global tournament wins and more than £16m in prize-money - has selected a range of jackets, trousers, windproof garments and mittens to combat the cold and wet conditions he’s likely to encounter during the year.

Leading golf website www.golfmagic.com will feature a competition for golfers tired of getting wet on the golf course. The idea is to provoke discussion on the
website forums around golfers’ wettest experiences on the course. The funniest posting will win an Austin waterproof jacket. “We expect some hilarious stories and a great response, but nothing of course from Galvin Green wearers,” said editor Bob Warters. Golf Magic forum’s in the past have thrown up great discussion. One user even commented: “I would say Galvin Green waterproofs give me a 4 shot start on anybody not wearing decent waterproofs”. Great stuff, keep it coming.

Galvin Green has won the Swedish golf industry’s “Supplier of the Year” award. A total of 35 other golf suppliers, including the likes of Callaway, Ping, Nike and last year’s winner Acushnet, were kicked into touch as Sweden’s golf retailers voted Galvin Green best industry supplier. Galvin Green was outright winner in four of the seven categories voted on (Quality, Service, Profitability and Supply) demonstrating that the brand’s “We Never Compromise” slogan applies throughout the business, not just to its award winning products.
