Team Galvin Green ambassador Mathew Webb battled ferocious weather conditions in his multi-layer clothing to win the 2016 PGA National Futures Championship in Australia.

The Englishman from Bedlingtonshire Golf Club completed a notable double, after securing The Galvin Green PGA Assistants’ Championship back in August.

Strong winds and heavy rain resulted in the cancellation of the final round at the Ballarat Golf Club near Melbourne, leaving Mat as the winner with a four shot lead through 54-holes on +5. He landed the $57,000 title and entry into next year’s Australian PGA Championship.

“All my Galvin stuff has come through and it's beyond great,” said Mathew.

The 27-year-old plays in the domestic PGA play-Off event at Saunton Golf Club next week, where a top-ten finish would secure him a place in next year’s BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.
